Bottles always had musical qualities. I am sure you remember all the clinking and jangling sounds when you toasted your favorite champagne to your near and dear ones. Using sound as a catalyst for design, Tuned a design research company based in Philadelphia, US has prepared a delicious beer called Tuned Pale Ale. The unique beer is marked with a musical scale label which makes it rhythmic. The label is marked with various notes. You just drink it down to the note you want, blow across the bottle and the scale would play the music back for you. Melodious indeed!

Radius Music is a never heard or seen before attempt at composing music using cartography and graphic scores. Devised by Dave Young the instrument is an autonomous rotating machine that uses synthesis technique comprising frequency modulation and additive synthesis to generate audio. The machine slowly rotates and scans the room to read the distance between it and people or objects and convert the same into a relative sonic frequency and visual score. Which means that each time you step in or walk out of the room, the machine would read the distance and accordingly sound too.

Conceived by French designer Emir Ezzina, the “Tecktonik Killer” is an autonomous means of transportation that makes commutation fun for the rider. Intended toward the younger generation, the portable scooter can be customized to accommodate different users. Running on a rechargeable battery, the new mobility device includes a handlebar for easy controls and a LED light to glow your path at night. Featuring the latest technologies, the Tecktonik Killer lets you interact with other riders, for you can share your music with a built-in MP3 player with your friends. Moreover, the device rolls into a compact size for easy storage and transportation.

Public transport may allow sustainable commutation but passengers have to compromise with comfort and privacy while traveling by a bus or a train. Developed by Russian designer Vitaly Kamyshev, the “Bombardier” is a personal coach compartment that not only allows privacy but also adds luxury to the public transport. Accommodating one person in utmost comfort, the individual compartment includes an armchair, computer panel with TV and multimedia center, place for your bag and wardrobe with drying function. The touch sensitive panel on the table lets you watch TV, listen to the music or surf internet with the touch of a finger. You can use USB-card if you want to open your file or save any information while working on the touchscreen computer. Though the cabin just measures one meter in length, but you can regulate the slope of the chair back to work or stretch your body in comfort.

American fast food chains in Tokyo are working really hard to try and attract their Japanese clientele. Getting its act together this time is the Burger King’s new chic restaurant in Tokyo. Conceptualized as a place to relax with friends and family, Burger King has introduced first ‘Musical Shower’ booth system in the upscale joint, so that its customers can savor the goodies while they are all ears to their favorite tracks.

With a few small exceptions, Lauryn Hill has been been somewhat a recluse since the smash success of her 1998 album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, and hasn’t recorded anything else.

Many have speculated that she had some sort of breakdown, but gurlfriend is finally putting all the rumors to rest by explaining why she left music behind!
